Interviewing at Pioneer

An interview is our opportunity to get to know you and your opportunity to get to know us. We pride ourselves on a strong culture and want to make sure our culture and company is a good fit for both of us. 

How do I get an interview?

First, you need to submit a job application here or you can apply in-person at any of our locations. If your qualifications are a match to our needs, you will receive a phone call from a Pioneer representative to schedule an interview.

How are interviews conducted?

All of our interviews are conducted in-person and focus on your experience and how it relates to job you are applying for. Throughout the interview, we’ll be evaluating your technical expertise and job experience as well as your overall fit with the team and company.

Behavioral-based questions

In addition to asking questions about your work experience and skills listed on your application, you might be asked behavioral-based questions. These type of questions help us better determine the cultural fit with Pioneer. Examples of questions we might ask include:

  • Describe a situation when you saw room for improvement in a task you were required to complete. What did you do? Did you present your idea?
  • In your most recent position, give an example of the steps you took to respond to a specific client complaint. How did the client react? Was the client satisfied?

Tips for your interview at Pioneer

Here are a few basic tips that can help you better communicate with your interviewer and impress us with your skills, experience, and knowledge.

  • Double-check that all your job application information is complete and accurate.
  • Speak clearly and audibly. Slow down, if you feel nervous, we are just having a conversation.
  • Make eye contact.
  • Present concrete examples of your capabilities. Be specific. Provide concrete examples of your relevant experiences.
  • Have a few questions of your own. Remember, this is an opportunity for you to learn about Pioneer and our culture.
